City Executive (Oberbürgermeister, Dezernate)

The City Executive consists of the Mayor and the five vice mayors. The members of the City Executive normally meet once weekly. The meetings are not public. The Mayor takes the chair.

The Mayor needs the consent of the City Executive when arranging the agenda of the meetings of the City Council and in the case of urgent decisions. In addition, the Mayor prepares the resolutions to be adopted by the City Council in agreement with the City Executive. The Mayor's discussions with the assistant mayors (administration discussions) on fundamental or inter-departmental topics take place within the framework of the meetings of the City Executive.
