In 1994, St. Quintin’s received a wooden steeple again. It was thus the last church in Mainz to be rid of the scars of war. St. Quintin’s was first mentioned already in 774, the present building was constructed between 1288 and 1330. Destroyed several times, a Gothic hall church with a rectangular ground plan has survived. Apart from the high altar from 1739 with a new baldachin, the large altar painting by Franz Anton Maulbertsch (1724-1796) is noteworthy. One focus of attention is the restored pulpit which came originally from St. Emmeran’s.
