The tour begins at Schillerplatz in front of the Fastnachtsbrunnen. Here the Fools' Season is traditionally begun by giving notice of the 11 laws governing the Fastnacht season. The Osteiner Hof was built as a residential palace in the middle of the 18th Century. The Bassenheimer Hof (image left) was built for the sister of the Elector-Prince, also constructed in 1750.
