There are two full-time educators on staff who oversee a group of experienced student assistants. The educators work closely with the museum’s scientists to develop relevant programming. We offer a variety of natural history programs for people of all ages -- from guided tours for children to readings at retirement homes. We also offer games and scavenger hunts for children, natural history lectures, and movie nights showing current films. Special workshops with topics such as, “Animals in Art” are also available. For children and teenagers, ages 3-15, birthdays parties can be held at the museum. We create a party full of natural history and fun! Guided tours for Kindergartens and school groups can be tailored to the specific needs of each group. We offer one and two hour tours covering many different topics; from the earth’s history to present-day events.
While we are not affiliated with any school or university, we provide many educational opportunities for students and adults. Outside of the museum we offer story hours in certain branch libraries. Teachers and educators will receive educational materials before their visit. In some cases, we are able to provide brief lesson plans for use in Kindergartens.
