In the map section of the application, you can view and select the statutes relevant to planning.

The actions you can perform using the navigation tools and layer controls include:

Turning the "Inner Area Statute," "Preservation Statute," "Design Statute," and "Redevelopment Areas" plan types
on and off First, an overview of the entire city area with all statute areas is displayed. The legend provides information about the meaning of the symbols used for the individual statutes. You can access the legend by selecting the "Theme selection" button in the navigation area and then clicking on the downward-pointing arrow located in front of each statute to be selected. A menu will open where you can select the menu item "Open legend."

The individual statute topics (layers) can be found under the heading "Statutes relevant to planning" in the "PLANNING, BUILDING, LIVING" section.

You can use the layer control to display one, all, or a desired combination of statutes. You can activate/deactivate a type of statute by clicking to check or uncheck the corresponding selection box.

When activating multiple statute layers, please note that their graphical distinguishability may be limited due to the overlapping of different statutes.

Navigating in the map area
You can navigate in the map area by moving to the desired section of the map using either the navigation symbols or the "Street search" button. When searching for a street, simply enter part of the street name and then click on the "Search OK" button. If this procedure returns several streets with the same initial letters, you can select the desired street from a list. When you use the street search function, you will be taken to the street's geographical location. This happens regardless of whether or not there is a statute in this area.

Selecting a single statute
Provided that the corresponding layer box is activated, you can select the desired statute in any scale range by clicking on the relevant statute area with the "i" button. A data window will then open, displaying the plan title and the date on which the plan came into force. If several statutes overlap in the selected area, the factual data of all selected statutes will be displayed one below the other and can be accessed by scrolling if necessary.

selected plan In the fact data window, you will find a button next to the information mentioned above that you can use to call up the text of the statute in a separate (Acrobat) window. If several plans have been selected in the case of plan overlap, a corresponding number of Acrobat buttons will be displayed.

Boundaries of statutes in the overview map
Since the boundaries of the statutes in the overview display have been recorded in part on the basis of older digitized analog map data, they do not always correspond completely with the current official maps used in this application.

Date of legal validity
In rare cases, the date of legal validity of the selected statute displayed in the factual data window may differ slightly from the date given in the text of the statute. This is usually due to the fact that the publication of the statute in the Allgemeine Zeitung Mainz and the Mainzer Rhein-Zeitung differs by one day. The date that corresponds to the most recent publication is then valid. In any case, the factual data window contains the date of the most recent publication, which is decisive for legal validity.
