From today, Monday, March 9, until March 21, 2026, Große Bleiche between Peter-Altmeier-Allee and Bauhofstraße will only be accessible as a one-way street from Peter-Altmeier-Allee to Bauhofstraße. At the same time, Kaiser Friedrich-Straße (between Hintere Bleiche and Große Bleiche) will also be closed, but the parking garage will remain accessible. 

These closures are necessary because construction work is being carried out on Ernst-Ludwig-Platz and Helmut-Kohl-Platz for the broadcast of various media outlets covering the Rhineland-Palatinate state election. The Landtag underground car park can therefore only be accessed via Peter-Altmeier-Allee.

On Sunday, March 22, 2026 (state election day), the above-mentioned area will be completely closed.
In addition, for the above-mentioned reasons, Deutschhausplatz and Platz der Mainzer Republik will also be closed on Saturday/Sunday, March 21/22, 2026.

From Monday, March 23, 2026, this link will be open to traffic again as normal.
