This department is primarily responsible for the following tasks: 

• Further development of the integration and labor market strategy of the state capital of Mainz
• Coordination of measures, projects, etc., in the area of integration and labor market policy
• Promotion of equal opportunity and equal participation in society
• Collaboration with local and regional institutions, organizations, government agencies, associations, etc.
• Reducing disadvantage and countering discrimination as well as group-focused hostility
• Providing information to those seeking advice in cooperation with counseling centers, municipal offices, and institutions
• Public relations through information and awareness-raising activities as well as the organization of events
