Theme years
All over the world, people create new knowledge every day. Of course, this also applies to Mainz, the "City of Science 2011". The competition for the title brought together numerous Mainz citizens, companies and institutions with Mainz science.
The MAINZ SCIENCE ALLIANCE wants to build on this success with its theme years under the motto "PEOPLE WHO CREATE SCIENCE."
People are at the heart of much research. And people, in turn, create knowledge. This slogan is particularly fitting for Mainz: Mainz is a city of people-oriented research. In institutes and laboratories, at universities and colleges, in research-based companies and museums: people are often at the center of attention.
But what does all this mean in concrete terms for the people of Mainz? Where are the points of contact? How can you, as a citizen, participate in the research and learn firsthand from Mainz scientists about what they are working on?
There is a wide range of exciting opportunities on offer, but they can sometimes be difficult to find in the jungle of information and events. Since 2015, the MAINZER WISSENSCHAFTSALLIANZ (Mainz Science Alliance), together with the state capital of Mainz and with the support of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate, has been organizing themed years under the motto MENSCH DER WISSENSCHAFFT (People of Science), which feature an attractive program of events.
