App: Audio tours (Lauschtour) for iOS and Android

The Lauschtour app offers six audio tours through the permanent exhibition of the Gutenberg Museum. The highlight tour traces the life and work of Johannes Gutenberg. A special highlight here are the two Gutenberg Bibles in the vault. Five extra tours lead through further exhibition areas, including "The Book before Gutenberg", "Early Prints after Gutenberg", "Paper and Letterpress", "East Asia" and "Islamic Book Culture".

The app costs 3.49 euros and can be downloaded from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

Join-in video series: Printing and bookbinding

Our interactive video series invites you to experiment with your own printing and book design. Short video clips show step by step how exciting results can be achieved with simple materials and printing techniques.

In addition, the video "Printing like Gutenberg" shows a short printing demonstration on the historic printing press in the basement of the museum.

PRINTING! Analog printing demonstration digital: Printing like Gutenberg

In this video we show the main attraction of the Gutenberg Museum: the printing demonstration on the Gutenberg press in the reconstructed Gutenberg workshop. The entire printing process from type casting to typesetting is shown. The demonstrations take place every hour in the Gutenberg Museum and are included in the museum admission.

Digital course through our special exhibitions

The special exhibitions of the Gutenberg-Museum are carried into the social networks and deepened through our digital courses on Instagram and Facebook. Additional content and background information, such as questions to the participating artists about the concept of their exhibition projects, provide exciting insights behind the scenes.

#drucklust despite Lockdown: Video series with (print) artists.

In our video series, (print) artists connected to the Gutenberg- Museum through workshops and exhibition projects report on their work during the Corona pandemic. The “selfie” videos offer an authentic insight into the workshops and studios of the artists and show that #drucklust is possible despite lockdown.
