Holder of the Wiesbaden Tourist Card pay a reduced admission fee of €3.50.

Audio guide

The audio guide is available at the museum ticket counter. 6 audio tours take visitors through different sections of the museum. 5 extra tours offer a deeper insight into special areas of the permanent exhibition.

Individual and group tours through the exhibitions of the Gutenberg Museum are offered in many languages by the Mainz tour guides in cooperation with mainzplus Citymarketing GmbH.

Traveling by railway

For traveling by rail and train, you can use the travel guide of the Deutsche Bahn including a route planner.

Traveling via public transportation

Take the buses of the Public transportation to the stop "Höfchen" or "Fischtor". From the stops it is an approximately 7-minute walk to the museum.

Traveling by car / Parking lots

Parking at a fee is available in the parking garages "Am Brand" and "Rathaus-Rheingoldhalle".

Animals

Animals are not allowed in the museum. This rule does not apply to certified seeing-eye and assistance dogs. Thank you for your understanding.

Audio guide

Audio guide

Our audio guide with six "listening tours" takes adults, adolescents, and children through the permanent exibition of the museum. The audio guide is available in the languages German, English, French, and Korean for a rental fee of €3.50 (per device) at the museum ticket counter.

An audio guide app is also available for download for iOS and Android.

Baby carriages

A visit to the Gutenberg Museum is possible for visitors with baby carriages without any limitations. Baby carriages may be used in our exhibition areas.

Bathrooms

The bathrooms are located on the ground floor of the museum.

Calendar / Events

The Gutenberg Museum offers a diverse program of events that can be found in our Calendar of events. Regular events such as our hourly print demonstrations can be found in the Regular events section.

Cloakroom

The cloakroom is in the entrance lobby of the museum and is free of charge for all visitors. School classes can store their backpacks in the lockers. Please note that we cannot assume liability for items in the cloakroom area.

Food and drink

It is not permissible to eat and drink in the exhibition areas of the Gutenberg Museum. Thank you for your understanding.

Image, film and audio recordings

Photography for private purposes is permitted in the Gutenberg Museum. Flash photography and the use of tripods, selfie sticks, drones or similar aids are not allowed. Furthermore, photography and filming in the vault is generally not permitted for conservation reasons. 


Photography and filming for commercial purposes or as part of daily news coverage requires prior agreement and written permission from the museum management. For this purpose, please download the attached form, fill it out and send it to our Press Office at presse.gmstadt.mainzde

In the interest of all, we ask you not to disturb or obstruct other visitors when taking photographs and to respect their rights to the image when publishing them.

Arrival with the Deutsche Bahn

If you are travelling by train, please use the travel information service of Deutsche Bahn.
