OK:TV Mainz - Television by citizens for citizens
Film, edit, mix images and sound – and your own program is ready. Creating your own television program is the dream of many media enthusiasts. Those who have not yet turned their hobby into a career can try their hand at the media world at Offener Kanal (OK:TV) Mainz. OK:TV Mainz is open to everyone, whether beginners or professionals.
OK:TV Mainz is participatory television. At the media center near the main train station, anyone can produce their own program free of charge or use the semi-professional cameras, editing suites, and a large digital studio. In addition, everyone has the opportunity to participate in various training courses and seminars on the subject of camera work and editing. Many seminars are sponsored by the BürgerMedien education center, making the station a place of learning in the media sector for anyone interested. Internships, the FSJ Kultur (voluntary social year in culture) and many areas for voluntary work are also part of the comprehensive range of services on offer.
The OK:TV Mainz program can be accessed on the local cable network in Mainz and Rheinhessen on special channel 20 or via livestream on the Internet at www.ok-mainz.de.
OK:TV Mainz is easy to find in the media center of Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz (near the Taubertsbergbad / HBF West).
