Since we have many new construction and renovation projects planned for our daycare centers in the coming years, our need for early childhood educators remains high.

Daycare center initiative "Personal+"
The state capital of Mainz has developed a comprehensive set of measures to support the staff at its more than 60 municipal daycare centers in their educational work. These measures are expected to create a total of 111 new jobs.
Mayor Nino Haase explains: “With the ‘Personal+’ initiative, we have put together a comprehensive package of measures to strengthen the daycare teams and improve their working conditions. We want to give our educators the freedom to focus more on their core educational responsibilities. The children and their parents will also—and above all—benefit from the additional staff and improved communication. High-quality, reliable childcare is also essential for Mainz as a business hub and sends a strong signal to all companies looking to establish themselves here.”
Dr. Eckart Lensch, Head of Social Affairs, adds: “With the ‘Personal+’ initiative, we aim to alleviate the staffing burden at our municipal daycare centers, and we are confident that all facilities will benefit from this. We are also promoting diversity in the daycare centers, because well-staffed, multi-professional teams are an asset for both the staff and the children. Daycare centers run by recognized independent providers also make an important contribution to the care of Mainz’s children. Our goal is to provide these independent operators with adequate financial support so that they can continue to do excellent work in the field of child care.”
