In order to process your application as quickly as possible, we require the documents in digital form.

If you send us a traditional application folder by mail, we will first have to scan the applications in order to process them, which takes additional time. For you, this type of application also involves additional costs for paper, ink, and the application folder.

It is therefore better to apply via our application portal (opens in a new tab).

Of course, we also accept your application in paper form (Landeshauptstadt Mainz, Hauptamt, Postfach 3820, 55028 Mainz) or by email (du-fehlst-unsstadt.mainzde). However, we can process online applications faster and more easily, so you will receive feedback on your application from us more quickly.

Important note:

For security reasons, we cannot accept applications that are sent to us as a download link or as a ZIP file via email. Therefore, when applying by email, please send all documents in PDF format, preferably in a single file.

Your application must include the following information:

Your contact information, including:

• Last name and first name
• Address
• Phone number (cell, landline, or both)
• Email address (important! — most of the application process is handled via email)

A complete resume including:

• Date of birth
• Marital status
• A complete overview of your career history to date

Information for further planning:

• how many hours you would like to work (full-time, part-time with a specific number of hours),
• the age range of the children you would like to work with,
• when you will be available to start work.

Additional documents:

• Proof of your educational degree(s)
• Transcripts (school transcripts if they are current or if you have recently graduated; a reference from your most recent employer, etc.)
• Optional: additional documentation, e.g., internship certificates, proof of continuing education, volunteer work, etc.
