The Coordination Office for Citizen Participation of the State Capital of Mainz serves as the interface between residents, the city administration, the City Council, and municipal committees on all matters related to citizen participation. It is located within the Mayor’s Office and coordinates participation processes in Mainz. It serves as the administrative and coordinating office for the Advisory Board on Citizen Participation and maintains the pages on Mainz.de dedicated to citizen participation.
Our Services and Responsibilities
- We provide advice on all matters related to citizen participation in Mainz.
- We support Mainz residents in initiating their own participatory processes.
- We provide information on ongoing and completed participation processes.
- We assist the relevant city departments with the planning, implementation, and evaluation of participation processes.
- We organize the meetings of the Advisory Board for Citizen Participation and serve as its executive body.
- We update the list of projects and all other information on the civic participation pages at Mainz.de.
- We evaluate the public participation processes and prepare a comprehensive report every two years.
- Together with the Advisory Board for Citizen Participation, we update the “Guidelines for Citizen Participation in Mainz.”
