Particularly suitable for school classes: The workshop focuses on giving students practical, hands-on experience with the basic principles of hand typesetting and its implementation in hand press printing. Gutenberg's printing technique is brought to life using wooden letters, and there is also the opportunity to print multicolor blocks with many different motifs on our printing presses.
This program is supplemented by another printing technique, frottage (rubbing technique). The offer is rounded off by a rally on Gutenberg's life and work in Mainz.
Please note that the school class will be divided and will take turns (1.5 hours each) participating in the rally and the practical printing part in the print shop.
Duration of the entire program: 3 hours | Max. 30 participants
Dates: Mon–Fri: 9:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. or Mon–Thu: 1:30 p.m.–4:30 p.m.
