Offers for the 5th and 6th grade
Book casting - A library tour for the 5th and 6th school year
Duration: 90 minutes
Prerequisite: If possible, the children should have already been to a library and have a concrete idea of what is on offer and how things work in this institution. The tour arouses curiosity about books and is particularly suitable for children who do not like to read.
Content: After a brief introduction to the library, the children become jury members in a book casting show. Just like in a real casting show, they evaluate the candidate books in various categories. It's difficult to decide which book will make it to the next round. Afterwards, the children can get their own library card and borrow media, perhaps even their winning book?
Detective test - A guided tour of the library for the 5th and 6th school year
Duration: 90 minutes
Prerequisite: If possible, the children should have already been to a library and be familiar with basic organizational principles. Good reading skills and experience working in small groups would be advantageous.
Content: After a brief introduction to the library and what it has to offer, the children set off in small groups to search for information. The rally questions can be tailored to classroom topics. At the end, all participants who have successfully completed the test are declared book detectives. The children can then obtain their own library cards and borrow media.

Information for teachers
Library cards
Would you like your students to receive their library cards during the library tour?
To do so, you must make the following preparations at school:
The registration card for both libraries can be found at the bottom of this page in the download area.
Please print out the form in the required number of copies and have the students fill it out.
Adults sign the form themselves and also bring their valid ID card (or passport and registration confirmation, as passports do not contain addresses) with them to the appointment at the library. The fee for the library card is 12 euros per year for adults.
Minors must have the completed form signed by a parent and bring the original or a photocopy of that parent's valid ID card (or passport and registration confirmation) to the appointment at the library. The library card is free of charge for minors.
Main topics
If you would like to focus on a specific topic for your library tour or research course, please contact us at least two weeks before the planned date. It is possible, for example, to present a selection of literature or tailor research questions specifically to your topic. We look
forward to your visit!
