You can order literature that is not available in the city library from other libraries. You can then either pick it up at the circulation desk or view it in the reading room, depending on the library from which the book comes.

In addition to a valid library card, you will need an interlibrary loan account. You can set up an interlibrary loan account at the circulation desk and deposit money into it. The interlibrary loan fee can be paid on site in cash or by card.

A processing fee of €1.50 is charged for each title ordered, even if the requested title cannot be delivered. The fee is automatically debited from the interlibrary loan account as soon as the order is submitted. In exceptional cases, additional costs may be incurred.

Select your home library ("Mainz: Stadtbibliothek") in the hebis portal under the menu item "Login" and log in with your library card number and password. If you would like to order a book for loan, please search for the book using the relevant details (title, author, or ISBN) and click on the "Order" button when you find the right result. If you would like to order an article from a journal (you will receive a copy to keep), please search using the journal details (journal title, ISSN), NOT the article title. You can enter the article details later in the order form.
