Not only good for the environment ...
Replacing lamps outdoors saves energy, money ...
For nostalgics, they are simply "beautiful to look at" and give off a "wonderfully warm light." In fact, however, mercury vapor lamps—as the name suggests—contain traces of heavy metal and are therefore simply no longer appropriate. Because they are also real "power guzzlers" and "carbon dioxide emitters," the company has now had the lanterns on its premises converted to LED lights.
... and is also promoted!
A decision that not only benefits the environment, but also the company's coffers. The current conversion cost around €90,000. However, this is offset by annual electricity savings of almost 55,000 kilowatt hours. In addition, the project was eligible for funding, which made a financial injection from the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, and Nuclear Safety possible. So it's a good thing. Not only for the environment, but also for the company's coffers.
