EMAS (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme)
EMAS, the European Union's environmental management system, is one of the world's most demanding certifications and goes far beyond international standards. Through annual certification procedures carried out by independent auditors and in our annual environmental statement, we demonstrate how consistently, efficiently, and innovatively we use resources, energy, and environmentally friendly technologies.

Ökoprofit Mainz
Ökoprofit is an environmental management program aimed at reducing operating costs while simultaneously reducing the environmental impact. In 2001, the Mainz Central Wastewater Treatment Plant successfully participated for the first time in the project carried out by the City of Mainz; other divisions followed suit, making the Wirtschaftsbetrieb Mainz one of the long-standing “Mainz Ökoprofit Companies.”

Together with the city of Mainz and KAW Mainz and Mainz-Bingen AÖR, we operate the Mainz Environmental Store at Steingasse 3-9.
