We have already broken the 20-degree mark in Mainz, and the official start of spring
is just around the corner. For us, too, these are signs that it is time to slowly but surely bid farewell to winter.
Since we no longer have to expect bitterly cold nights and persistent frost, there is
no danger of frost damage around the cemetery fountains. Therefore, starting on Tuesday, March 10
, 2026, the employees of Mainz's public
utility company will begin to gradually turn the fountains in the city's cemeteries back on.
