CBS University of Applied Sciences (CBS) is a state-recognized, private university of applied sciences with various locations throughout Germany, e.g., in Cologne, Berlin, Hamburg, and Mainz. The university belongs to the Stuttgart-based Klett Group and offers around 4,000 students study programs in the fields of economics, social sciences, health, and education. The study models vary from numerous dual and part-time programs to full-time programs.

CBS has been represented in Mainz since 2006, when it was still known as the European Management School (EMS). At the Mainz campus, the university focuses on dual bachelor's programs in the fields of general management and social work & education. In both programs, students have the opportunity to acquire basic knowledge for one year and then specialize in a particular area from the third semester onwards.

The CBS program is based on a 2+3 model, which means that students spend three days a week at their partner company and two days at the university. With over 1,300 partner companies in the CBS network, the Career Service Team works with dual students to find the right partner company for them – whether it's a medium-sized "hidden champion" or an international corporation. As a rule, tuition fees are covered by the industry partner and students receive an additional salary. In consultation with the employer, the university also offers the opportunity to spend a semester at one of over 160 partner universities abroad.
