Catholic University of Applied Sciences Mainz
The Catholic University of Applied Sciences Mainz is a state-recognized university of applied sciences with a good network of research and teaching.
Social work, health, and practical theology are the areas of specialization at the Catholic University of Applied Sciences Mainz (KH Mainz). Around 1,600 students are trained to become experts in these fields in the nine bachelor's and master's degree programs offered by the departments of Social Work and Social Sciences, Health and Nursing, and Practical Theology.
The KH Mainz is a state-recognized university sponsored by the Catholic Church. People of all religions, as well as those without religious or denominational affiliation, study at the university.
The campus is located in the heart of Mainz. As a small, manageable university, KH Mainz offers a personal study atmosphere, short distances, and intensive support opportunities. With its cooperation and practice partners from the church and society, the university forms a strong network and enables students to study with a high degree of practical relevance and excellent contacts to future employers.
Numerous international partnerships with (partner) universities and practical training institutions offer a wide range of opportunities to gain experience abroad during your studies. International contacts and university partnerships are constantly being intensified and expanded. In 2009, the Institute for Applied Research and International Relations (ifw) was also founded. This is where activities in the areas of research and international relations come together. The aim of all research activities at KH Mainz is to contribute to solving current problems and challenges in the social, societal, and ecclesiastical spheres, as well as in the care and health sectors.
The Institute for Continuing Education and Training (ifw) offers continuing education courses for specialists and managers with (technical) university degrees in the fields of social work, health and nursing, and education.
The university is equipped for disabled access and provides barrier-free access to all premises.
For KH Mainz, balancing university and family life is an important concern. As a member of the "Familie in der Hochschule" (Family at University) association, it is in contact with 130 other universities and offers needs-based support options for student parents.
