Mainz shines - The Late Light Festival
When "Mainz shines", Mainz city center shines in a special glow: From the Rheingoldhalle to Schillerplatz, several buildings were illuminated and artistically staged from September 25 to 27, 2025.

Various light installations and video projections (known as "mappings") cast prominent buildings such as St. Martin's Cathedral, the Rheingoldhalle, the Mainz State Theater, and the Osteiner Hof on Schillerplatz in a whole new light.
In addition, a varied supporting program took place in the city center, organized by local businesses from the catering, retail, and cultural sectors.
