In Mainz, there are over 20 allotment garden associations with around 2,000 members on an area of approximately 63 hectares. In addition, allotment garden space is also made available on municipal fallow land and private land. The allotments in the associations are leased by the Mainz City Association of Allotment Gardeners (Stadtverband Mainz der Kleingärtner e.V.).
