Mainz Summer of Music 2026

The Mainz Music Summer - a cherished tradition for classical music enthusiasts in Mainz, which delights with classical music at the highest level. The series of events will take place from July to August 2026 at various locations in Mainz.

July 1, 2026 Festive opening in St. Stephen's

In front of Chagall's blue stained-glass windows, the German Radio Philharmonic Orchestra unfolds a panorama of musical morning hours with Muffat, Zelenka, Mozart, and Haydn—full of warmth, splendor, and inspiration. During the concert intermission, you are invited to linger in the cloister of St. Stephen's Cathedral.

July 30, 2026 Harmonic Brass & Daniel Beckmann

August 8, 2026 Wild Norway

Anyone who studies Edvard Grieg will soon encounter the Hardanger fiddle, which is responsible for lively dances and emotional melodies in Norwegian folklore. Prepare to be impressed and carried away when the Røta Trio opens up a Norwegian panorama with elegant salon music and deeply felt sounds ranging from Grieg to folk.
