Since Saturday, July 6, 2024, Mainz has offered a special public transportation promotion: On the first Saturday of every month, passengers can ride buses and trains for free. The so-called “0-Euro Saturday” applies throughout the city of Mainz as well as in Budenheim, Wackernheim, and Zornheim.

No ticket is required on these promotional days. The goal of the initiative is to make public transportation even more attractive for residents and visitors and to make it easy to switch to buses and trains.

"0-Euro Saturday" invites people to explore the downtown area, cultural attractions, events, or shopping destinations in a relaxed manner without having to search for parking. The offer is valid all day on the first Saturday of every month on all regular buses and trams within the coverage area.
