Streetcar stops at the stadium

The Mewa-Arena is connected to the streetcar on the route between the main station and Lerchenberg, which means that another means of transportation is available for Mainz 05 home games in addition to the tried-and-tested shuttle bus service.

The Mewa Arena can be reached by tram lines 51 and 53 at the stops Mainz University of Applied Sciences, Jakob-Heinz-Straße/Arena, and Kisselberg.

For home games, the tried-and-tested bus shuttle service will continue to operate independently of the tram service, thus continuing to transport visitors before and after home games. As usual, the shuttle buses will run from 3 hours before the start of the game until 2 hours after the end of the game.

The buses will depart from the main station as usual at stop S, and from the stadium (special stop Saarstraße) at stops A and B. Buses to the P+R car park at the exhibition grounds in Hechtsheim will depart from stop C on Saarstraße.

During peak times, the following restrictions must be imposed on tram services for safety reasons in consultation with the police:

Before the start of the game:

All trams stop at the Mainz University, Jakob-Heinz-Straße/Arena, and Kisselberg stops.

After the game:

For a period of 60 minutes after the final whistle, the Jakob-Heinz-Straße/Arena and Mainz University stops will not be served. Trams will stop at the Kisselberg stop directly next to the shuttle buses.

Tram lines 51 and 53 will generally run according to the regular schedule, but additional trips will be added as needed.
