Mainz City Management e.V. is tasked with positioning Mainz as a shopping and leisure destination in the competition between cities in the Rhine-Main region. The association was founded in 1998 and now has over 150 members. These include companies and individuals from across society.

In recent years, the association has developed numerous goals and measures to transform Mainz city center into a world of experiences for citizens, guests, and tourists. One example is the City Mile, which connects the various pedestrian zones to form an inner-city circuit.
