ÖKOPROFIT Mainz

Environmental and climate protection with profit - that's what ÖKOPROFIT Mainz does. The program for environmental protection and resource management has been successful in Mainz for many years and numerous companies, institutions and administrations have taken part. ÖKOPROFIT means "knowledge-implementation-profit" and this in exchange with other companies.

Numerous advantages for companies

ÖKOPROFIT Mainz aims to train, inform, and advise companies on how to make their production processes more effective, cost-efficient, and environmentally friendly. "ÖKOPROFIT shows companies in very concrete terms how they can avoid waste and save energy and water. They receive technical suggestions and assistance on how to motivate their employees and, last but not least, legal certainty," explains Dr. Sabine Gresch from the AGENDA office, which coordinates ÖKOPROFIT Mainz.

ÖKOPROFIT Network Mainz

Sustainable Business Network

ÖKOPROFIT is a network for the continuous improvement of environmental protection in businesses. It serves to provide technical information and facilitate the exchange of experiences. Through ÖKOPROFIT, participating businesses can maintain contacts, intensify cooperation with local authorities, use the project for public relations purposes, and offer workshops as "employee training."

Who can take part?

Companies of all sizes and from all sectors that

  • have already participated in ÖKOPROFIT and want to rejoin, or
  • have certification according to EMAS, ISO 14001, or similar.
  • Even if the company can provide evidence of its own environmental management system, it can still participate in ÖKOPROFIT.

Interested companies can contact us at any time.

Course of the project

  • Eight workshops: Over a period of two years, participating companies are systematically guided and supported in setting up an internal environmental protection program. In joint workshops, usually with external speakers, companies learn what they can do in concrete terms. Digital working materials supplement the individual topics.
  • Company employees collect their specific operational data and information in the environmental field. This forms the basis for the development of the environmental program, the core of ÖKOPROFIT.
  • Individual on-site consulting for each company: These measures are designed to save resources in concrete terms. In half-day sessions, participating companies are shown areas where improvements can be made in terms of legal compliance, environmental impact, and cost reduction.
  • After completion and assessment by the independent ÖKOPROFIT commission, the company is awarded the title "ÖKOPROFIT company Mainz."
