#GeMAINZamStark
In May, institutions providing support for people with disabilities (workshops for people with disabilities, residential homes, special schools), sports clubs, and families from all over Rhineland-Palatinate, neighboring states, and even the Netherlands and Luxembourg will be guests in Mainz for eleven sports—from badminton to soccer to table tennis—and a low-threshold participatory program.
The TSV SCHOTT Mainz grounds will serve as a large event venue, hosting competitions in soccer, athletics, and table tennis. In the immediate vicinity, tennis players will show off their skills on the courts of the DJK Tennisverein Mainzer Sand. Nearly 160 swimmers will take to the cool water at the nearby Mainz-Mombach swimming pool.
The judoka and badminton players will compete in the sports hall of the Otto Schott Gymnasium. The bowling competitions will take place at Phönixbowling, while golfers will find ideal conditions at the Mainz Golf Club in Budenheim.
The boccia competition and non-competitive activities will take place in Mainz Volkspark. The inclusive Landesspielmeile (state games mile) will also celebrate its premiere in the park, where visitors can get to know clubs and institutions from Mainz and supporters of Special Olympics Rhineland-Palatinate. Cyclists will also be doing their laps in the Winterhafen in the center of Mainz.
