Get Involved to Keep Our City Clean
The Mainz Municipal Cleaning Department regularly cleans all areas subject to public cleaning requirements. However, there are also other areas for which it is not responsible and which may be dirty.
Anyone who wants to support street cleaning can help make OUR city more beautiful by participating in the annual “Clean Up Day.”
The cleaning of public roads and squares in the city area as well as sidewalks and pedestrian zones in the city center falls within the remit of Mainz City Cleaning. This also includes the maintenance of approximately 2,000 public waste bins, which are emptied several times a day, especially in the city center.
In many areas, however, property owners are also responsible for cleaning. The same applies to winter services.
