Immission control
Immissions are external impacts on nature and people. The central tasks of immission control are air pollution control and noise protection.
The tasks of the lower immission control authority, which is based in the Green and Environment Office of the City of Mainz, include issuing permits in accordance with the Federal Immission Control Act (BImSchG). Such a permit is required by operators of facilities that may have a significant impact on the environment, for example through noise or air pollution. This applies to virtually all industrial and larger commercial enterprises.
The SGD Süd, Regional Office for Trade Supervision in Mainz, is responsible for monitoring commercial facilities. If you notice any irregularities or have any complaints, please contact the responsible party directly if possible or inform the trade supervisory authority.
