In the shade of the vine leaves...
In the largest city in Germany’s largest wine-growing region, it is now also possible to be buried among the grapevines—a site already affectionately known as the “Schorlegräber.” To this end, the Wirtschaftsbetrieb Mainz has planted 9 grapevines in 5 rows on a slope at the Laubenheim District Cemetery, providing space for a total of 72 urn burial plots and 36 urn row graves.
