Online solar series of cities and districts will be offered again in 2026

PART 7 of the info series on solar energy

"Tips for financing your own solar system"

Free online webinar on financing solar power systems on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Even though operating a solar system provides a steady income or lower electricity costs, an initial investment of several tens of thousands of euros is required. Not every household has this amount readily available. As a result, many interested individuals wonder whether installing a photovoltaic (PV) system is worth it. This detailed presentation aims to provide answers to questions regarding the suitability of one’s own roof, financing, and subsidy options for photovoltaic systems.

In Part 7 of the independent and comprehensive online information session on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., a detailed overview of the topic of financing photovoltaic systems will be provided. The session will begin with an overview of potential subsidies for PV systems and an explanation of feed-in tariffs. This will be followed by insights into financing and lease models. The practical, expert-led presentation will be supplemented by case studies and will allow you to ask questions directly to the experts, so that you can then take the next steps toward installing your own rooftop PV system.

The event is part of the “Solar and Heat” online seminar series.

“Despite the continuous energy cost savings during the operation of a solar system, the question of financing for solar systems remains a central issue. That is why I am all the more pleased that this important aspect can be the focus of a dedicated event within the ‘Solar’ online seminar series,” says Janina Steinkrüger, Head of the Environmental Department, looking forward to the seventh event in the ‘Solar’ online seminar series.

The information series is organized by the climate protection managers, in collaboration with the adult education centers and the consumer advice center in the Rheinhessen-Nahe and Vorderpfalz regions. Further information on registration and the solar initiative of the state capital Mainz can be found at: www.mainz.de/solarinitiative
