On Monday, August 17, 2026, the next phase of the Landwehrweg construction project in the Mainz-Oberstadt district will begin. As part of this, the sidewalk and one lane of traffic will be closed in sections from the intersection with Schlesische Straße up to and including Zahlbacher Steig. A one-way traffic system will be implemented in the direction of the University Hospital. The work is expected to last until September 11, 2026. 

Pedestrians will be able to pass through the construction zone. Bicyclists heading toward Pariser Straße will be routed via An der Philippsschanze. A detour route is already in place for private motor vehicles.

In addition, from August 17 through August 21, 2026, the entrance to Schlesische Straße will be completely closed. A detour will be signposted on site.
