Amendment to the Parking Regulations on Eisgrubweg

The state capital of Mainz is adjusting the parking regulations on Eisgrubweg. This is due to the rail replacement service (SEV), which is expected to run through Eisgrubweg until October as part of the construction work. To ensure the safe and smooth operation of the replacement buses, traffic adjustments are necessary. Large sections of Eisgrubweg have a relatively narrow roadway, making it difficult for buses and oncoming vehicles to pass each other.

Parking regulations are being revised to ensure that buses can safely navigate the streets while also guaranteeing that emergency vehicles have unobstructed access at all times. To this end, no-parking zones will be established or adjusted, and parking spaces will be clearly marked. In the future, parking will be permitted only within the designated areas.

With these changes in this area, the City of Mainz aims to ensure that the neighborhood remains accessible during the rail replacement service while minimizing disruptions to residents as much as possible. The measures are based on the traffic requirements of the rail replacement service and, at the same time, provide greater clarity regarding where parking is permitted.

The road marking and signage work will be carried out promptly so that the regulations take effect in time for the start of rail replacement service operations.
