Travel Guide Fundraiser at the Public Library – Anna Seghers
This year, the Anna Seghers Public Library is once again hosting its popular travel guide donation drive. After all, up-to-date travel guides are in demand as ever. To further expand its collection of up-to-date travel literature covering as many different destinations as possible, the Public Library is inviting the public to donate travel guides in good condition from September 1 through October 31, 2026.
Library visitors can help expand the Public Library’s collection by donating travel books they no longer need, thereby helping other travelers plan their vacations. Many vacationers bring home well-preserved travel guides after their trips, which then usually end up unused on the bookshelf. Through the travel guide donation campaign, these books are given a “second life” and put to further use.
We are therefore looking for well-preserved travel guides that are no more than three years old, show no stains or damage, and are written in German. In addition to classic country and city guides, specialized guides—such as those for hiking, cycling, or families with children—are also welcome.
As a thank-you, all donors will receive a travel voucher worth 10 euros. In addition, a travel voucher worth 100 euros will be raffled off among all participants.
With this campaign, the Anna Seghers Public Library combines sustainability with a love of travel. Every donation helps to further expand the collection of up-to-date travel literature and makes travel planning easier for many people.
