Press release: Wohnbau Mainz announces new managing director. Together with Roman Becker, she will manage the largest residential construction company in the state capital in future.
With Astrid Jutta Fath, Wohnbau Mainz has appointed a proven expert in urban development, project development, and portfolio management as its new technical managing director. She brings extensive experience from leadership roles in the housing industry, administration, and project development, and offers a holistic perspective on the challenges facing the housing market.
Most recently, she served as a member of the executive board at TreuBau Freiburg AG, where she was primarily responsible for planning, project development, and portfolio management. Going forward, her professional focus will be on the technical management of Wohnbau Mainz’s properties, as well as the leasing of apartments and commercial units, with a balanced mix of subsidized and privately financed housing, commercial space, and social infrastructure.
Previously, she gained extensive leadership experience in senior positions, including as Technical Director at GGH Heidelberg, Head of Planning at GAG Ludwigshafen, and Director of the City Planning and Environment Office in Schriesheim. In these roles, she was responsible for large investment budgets, interdisciplinary teams, and strategic development processes at the intersection of economic efficiency, urban development, and sustainability. With her professional background, Astrid Jutta Fath combines technical depth with strategic foresight.
The shareholder structure of Wohnbau Mainz consists of the City of Mainz, the municipal holding company ZBM, and RIO Energieeffizienz GmbH & Co. KG. The shareholders expressly welcome the decision and view the selection of Astrid Jutta Fath as a compelling and forward-looking appointment to the management team. They are convinced that, with her technical expertise and strategic competence, she will, together with Roman Becker, provide important impetus for the company’s further development.
The shareholders and Supervisory Board Chair Jana Schmöller highlight the close and collaborative partnership during the selection process. The decision to appoint Astrid Jutta Fath reflects a shared vision for the future direction of Wohnbau Mainz. They see this arrangement as a strong foundation for a trusting collaboration and the consistent further development of the company. Wohnbau Mainz is confident that, in her, it has gained a leader who will further develop the company both professionally and strategically.
The shareholders and Supervisory Board Chair Jana Schmöller warmly welcome Astrid Fath, look forward to working with her, and wish her every success in her new role. We see the new management structure as a strong foundation for the company’s continued success. Ms. Fath is currently scheduled to begin her tenure on October 1, 2026.
Roman Becker looks forward to the collaboration, as this will allow the upcoming tasks to be distributed across multiple shoulders once again and implemented in a focused and strategic manner. This is because the housing market remains tight, and Wohnbau continues to carry out new construction and major modernization projects that must be implemented to continue providing affordable housing.
