Purchase of cloth diapers is also subsidized in Mainz

In the state capital of Mainz, it is possible to apply for a subsidy for the purchase of reusable diapers or cloth diapers from Kommunale Abfallwirtschaft Mainz und Mainz-Bingen AöR (KAW). With this subsidy, KAW MainzIBingen is supporting a sensible waste prevention measure.

According to the Federal Ministry for the Environment, every child uses approximately 5,000 diapers in their early years. This amounts to millions of diapers nationwide every day, all of which are disposable diapers. In contrast, purchasing reusable diapers makes a significant contribution to waste reduction.

Parents of children up to two years of age who reside in the state capital of Mainz are eligible to apply for a one-time subsidy of 25 percent of the documented purchase cost—up to a maximum of 100 euros. The application must be accompanied by the receipt for the cloth diapers and a copy of the child’s birth certificate.

Interested parties can find the application form on the KAW website at mz.kaw-mainz-bingen.de. For questions, please contact the Waste Advisory Service at 06131 / 123456. By the way: A similar subsidy has also been available in the Mainz-Bingen district for some time—applications can be submitted at lk.kaw-mainz-bingen.de.
