Tim Ott (Greens) and Melissa Enders (CDU) will go into the run-off on March 22
Today, the election committee of the state capital Mainz met under the direction of Chief Electoral Officer Lord Mayor Nino Haase in the Stadthaus Mainz to discuss the official final result of the election for local mayor in the Mainz-Oberstadt district on Sunday, March 8, 2026.
The preliminary review of the election records for completeness and correctness did not reveal any objections.
The results from all voting districts were tallied, yielding the following overall result:

The election committee determined that the two candidates, Tim Ott (Greens) and Melissa Enders (CDU), received the most valid votes cast and will therefore proceed to the runoff election for local council chair on Sunday, March 22, 2026.
