Full closure in Wallaustraße and Kurfürstenstraße
From Monday, 23.03.2026, civil engineering work will be carried out in Wallaustraße 15-18 as well as in Kurfürstenstraße 55 to the corner of Wallaustraße to lay a district heating pipeline and to make house connections by Mainzer Fernwärme in three construction phases.
The first phase of construction is expected to end on May 25, 2026. The affected area will be completely closed off. Residents may drive up to the closure point. Existing one-way street regulations will be temporarily suspended. Detour routes for private motor vehicles will be signposted on site. Pedestrians and cyclists may pass through the construction site.
As previously explained in a separate announcement, the weekly market will be relocated from Forsterstraße to the area around Frauenlobplatz 1–5 for the duration of the project.
