Lane closure on Zahlbacher Steig / at the corner of Landwehrweg
The civil engineering work to lay power and communication cables for the University Medical Center’s network expansion, carried out by Mainzer Netze on Landwehrweg in Mainz’s Oberstadt district, is largely complete. Starting Monday, September 7, 2026, the construction zone will move to Zahlbacher Steig. The lane heading toward Bretzenheim will be closed near the entrance to the University Medical Center.
Motorized private vehicles and bicycles will be routed past the construction site via a mobile traffic light system. Pedestrians will be directed to use the opposite side of the street. The project is expected to end on October 2, 2026.
