Mainz University Medical Center employs professionals from over 100 countries and has decades of experience in integrating international professionals. The City of Mainz shares this commitment, both in its capacity as a local government and as an employer. Together with the University Medical Center’s International Recruitment Department, the Office for Intercultural Affairs and Labor Market Promotion and the Economic Development Office of the City of Mainz are already organizing the third regular get-together. 

Launched in 2024, the Skilled Workers’ Get-Together provides a space where professionals from a wide variety of countries and fields—such as medicine, skilled trades, and engineering—can engage in conversation, network, and learn from one another. The topics covered are diverse: ranging from discussions about sports clubs and cultural offerings to questions regarding daycare and schools. The goal is for people not only to find work here but also, together with their families, to become part of the Mainz way of life.

This year, the event is also being supported by RP Solutions GmbH, an electrical contracting firm based in Mainz that also employs international skilled workers. The electricians and company management have already participated in previous get-togethers and gained interesting insights. At the request of the Mainz city administration, the HR managers did not hesitate and are now actively involved in preparing and organizing the meeting.

The plan is to continue holding the event at regular intervals to enable skilled workers to engage in ongoing exchange. Companies that would like to participate in the get-together with their employees or help organize it in cooperation with the organizers are welcome to contact the organizers. 

All skilled professionals in Mainz—with or without an immigrant background—who are interested in exchanging ideas with other professionals are cordially invited.
