"Libraries Day" at the Public Library – Anna Seghers

The Anna Seghers Public Library cordially invites you to celebrate Library Day together on Saturday, October 24. A variety of events at the Central Library and the Weisenau Branch Library will honor the importance of libraries and literature on this day.

For our youngest visitors, there is an open Kamishibai storytime every Saturday at the main branch of the Anna Seghers Public Library from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. No registration is required, so all interested families are welcome to drop by the storytime session on a whim.

For all adult visitors to the Public Library, the October Theme of the Month—in honor of the German Book Prize—offers an exciting selection of literature to inspire you.

Anyone who would like to attend a meeting of the Silent Book Club RLP will have the opportunity to do so on October 24 at the Weisenau Neighborhood Library. From 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the book club will meet and read in a quiet and relaxed atmosphere at the library. You can sign up for this special reading event on the Silent Book Club’s Instagram page.

Library Day aims to raise awareness of the importance and role of libraries in our society while also promoting the joy of reading. Books can entertain us, educate us, and transport us to new worlds. They can bring people together and foster mutual exchange.
