City council resolution June 15, 2011

Following a decision by the city council on June 15, 2011, a newly formed planning and design advisory board will begin work in the state capital of Mainz. This replaces the urban planning advisory board of the state capital of Mainz, which resigned in 2002.

The aim of establishing a planning and design advisory board is to contribute to improving the cityscape, ensuring high architectural quality, and preventing undesirable urban and architectural developments.

The Planning and Design Advisory Board advises the city as an independent expert committee.

The advisory board is responsible for reviewing and assessing the projects submitted to it in terms of their urban planning, architectural, and design qualities.

The Planning and Design Advisory Board is managed by the City Planning Office of the state capital Mainz.
