Allowance for expenses
The remuneration and classification of the mayor and deputy mayors is regulated by the state ordinance on the remuneration and expense allowances of full-time municipal elected officials (Kommunal-Besoldungsverordnung).
Honorary deputy mayors do not receive any remuneration or basic salary. They receive an expense allowance in accordance with the Local Government Remuneration Ordinance. The amount of the expense allowance is specified in the main statutes of the city of Mainz.

Other income
Honorary officials are only required to disclose their remuneration if the remuneration received for performing honorary duties exceeds €4,000.00.
