International Women's Day

_imageLink.sp_imageText.trim

Well over a hundred years old and yet still going strong: International Women's Day on March 8 is as relevant today as it was in 1911.

Even though many of the demands made back then appear to have been met today, there is still much to be done. Living a self-determined, equal, and violence-free life, no longer being disadvantaged, having a say in politics and society, receiving equal pay for equal work, not doing the lion's share of poorly paid or unpaid work—even today, this is not a matter of course for many women. Then as now, women have rights!
