November 25 - International Day of Remembrance against Violence against Women and Girls
Every year on November 25, numerous international and local campaigns draw attention to the still pressing problem of violence against women - including in Mainz. Since 1999, November 25 has been recognized by the United Nations as an official International Day of Remembrance.
In addition to a flag campaign in front of the mayor's office, the Health Section of the AK Gewalt (Working Group on Violence) is organizing an online course on the health effects of (sexualized) violence against women and girls as part of the courses offered by Unimedizin Mainz. Unfortunately, the online
event has to be canceled this year.
