Training to become a city inspector trainee in the civil service takes the form of a dual study program, lasts a total of 3 years, and consists of:

  • 21 months of study at the University of Public Administration in Mayen (HöV Mayen (opens in a new tab)) and
  • 15 months of practical training in various specialist departments of the Mainz city administration.

  • Vocational baccalaureate diploma or high school diploma, each with at least satisfactory grades
  • At the time of appointment to the preparatory service (July 1), the candidate must not yet have reached the age of 40
  • EU citizen
