Do you enjoy working with people of all ages and do you like dealing with books and other media? With us you have the opportunity to develop your skills.
Training to become a specialist in media and information services—specializing in libraries—takes place within the dual system, lasts a total of three years, and consists of:
- practical work at the Anna Seghers Public Library in Mainz
- and block teaching at the Hermann-Gundert-Schule (opens in a new tab) in Calw

Recruitment requirements
- Qualified secondary school diploma with at least satisfactory grades or technical college entrance qualification/high school diploma
- German language skills at level C1 with at least satisfactory performance
Start and duration of training
August 1, 2026, for a period of 3 years
Remuneration
1st year of training: €1,368.26/month
2nd year of training: €1,418.20/month
3rd year of training: €1,464.02/month
